Cebu Philippines

Cebu is a popular city with a flow of foreigners enjoying a vacation or living there. Philippine locals flock to the city to find a job.

Often people will fly from Manila to Cebu so let’s take a look at the two airlines:

Philippine Airlines seem to offer a lot more expensive flights at first glance. Once you see their special rates at certain hours then they are no that bad compared to Cebu Pacific Airlines. With Pal, they seem a lot more transparent and the purchasing online was easier with less details to fill out.

The original cost of a ticket with CPA was around$1250 pesos compared to PAL about $15XX. But I followed the purchase to checkout and the CPA price ended up being around $1610 pesos while the PAL one was $1720. I decided to go with PAL for the very reason that their charges were more transparent at first.

What to Take?

I’m going to only have a shoulder bag, it is like a day pack used by snowboarders so it’s very strong. I have used this bag on two previous trips since 2008. Same goes for my Solomon shoes, they are as good as my Analog bag and still have no sign of falling apart which is amazing as they have been through rivers, mud, swamps, salt water and all sorts of terrain and conditions in 4 years.

Some things I might consider to take (with a big “C”) are:

Things I need to buy before I go:

Some items I won’t be able to take on the plane or would prefer to buy them there are:

  • Multi tool
  • 1 Camera Bean Bag
  • Sun Hat
  • Also here are some things that I won’t take but others might like to:

  • 1 Torch & batteries
  • Lightweight Tent
  • Once you get to Cebu then there is a lot more to talk about which I will do soon….
